Acers (Japanese Maples) cover our small garden.
In the autumn, as they abandon their leaves I collect them together. When the last leaf falls, and the trees are bare, I store them, ready for winter.
When winter arrives I scatter the leaves on the newly fallen snow and each day take photographs until the snow thaws.
On the tree the delicacy and colour of the leaves gives the plant its beauty. Against the pure white snow the beauty becomes ethereal.
It didn’t snow this winter.
