The Old School is situated in picturesque village of Muker in the heart of upper Swaledale, perhaps the most picturesque dale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Muker is 10 minutes drive from Hawes (across the specular Buttertubs pass) 35 minutes from Richmond and just over an hours drive from Harrogate.
Muker is arguably the most popular tourist destination in the Dale, both for UK and foreign visitors. It is located on the Coast-to-Coast walk and the Pennine Way and is supported by a good cross section of businesses including a village shop, the famous Swaledale Wool Shop, and the Farmers Arms, a popular traditional pub. The Old School is easily located by the infamous Rambo the Sheep on the roof – the star of many a TV programme! On street parking is available, alternatively there is a car park next to the bridge.
