Sony RX1 & Sigma Merrill DP3 – Merrill Awe

The Quattro v Merrill comparison re-awoke my awe in the detail the Merrill DP3 muster up, so for just for fun I did a comparison between my Sony RX1 and my DP3.

Yes I know these are very different cameras and yes I know I’ve over processed to max detail and yes I know they are not taken in perfect lab conditions but hey, as if you still want to look, remember that the Sigma Merrill DP3 cost me £299 where as the Sony cost a hell of lot more, and for every 1 shot taken with the Merrill I had to take 10 to try and match it with the Sony.

Not that I’ll throw the Sony away, I love it, but bloody hell the Merrill is good! Can the Quattro produce the same?

This has to be my last comparison for a while, it’s time to take some real images.
